Originally constructed in 1878, the Operahouse Theatre was host to many vaudeville acts in its early days. Over the years, the theatre has undergone many updates and two major renovations. It is open year-round and offers box office movies, live entertainment, the First Central Art Gallery exhibits and the popular Travelogues. The theatre is also used for business seminars, recitals and private parties.
The Central Dewitt Performing Arts Center (CDPAC) opened in July 2011 and is a state-of-the-art venue that offers comfortable seating for 800 patrons. Plays, musicals, concerts, recitals, comedians, dancers, speakers, business meetings, and other events all can be hosted in this modern auditorium-type setting. The Center is a community based, non-profit auditorium whose mission is to enrich, educate and entertain patrons by hosting a wide variety of genres.
