Our Business Education Partnership focuses on helping local K-12 students explore career paths within our community.
The Business Education Partnership program is all about helping our K-12 students explore local career opportunities. Through this initiative, the DCDC aims to raise awareness of the jobs available in the area and the skills or education needed to land them. Here’s how we’re working towards that goal:
- Connecting local employers with teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Organizing career fairs, job shadows, workplace tours, and classroom speakers for high school students
- Creating opportunities for students to learn about the workforce needs of local businesses
- Offering teacher externships to bring real-world business insights into classrooms
- Building new and stronger partnerships between schools and employers
