Utilities

Residents and businesses are served by a range of utility offerings that ensure essential services are dependable and accessible. Electricity and natural gas are primarily supplied by Alliant Energy, a major regional provider, while portions of the surrounding rural area can also receive power from the local cooperative Eastern Iowa Light & Power. The City of DeWitt manages the water and sewer systems, providing treated water and wastewater services with infrastructure sized to support current and future community needs. For telecommunications, several providers such as Windstream, Mediacom, and Grand Mound Communications offer Internet, cable, and phone services, including fiber-optic options in most business & residentail areas. Additionally, waste management (solid waste and recycling) and utility billing are coordinated through city services, giving residents a centralized way to set up and manage their essential services.
