(1906 - 2002)

This DeWitt native was an artist – painting, sketching, carving and creating lithographs in the Regionalist style. Bloom participated in Grant Wood’s Stone City Art Colony of 1932-33, where he worked alongside Wood, his mentor.  Original works, including a mural and several Bloom replications can be found within the DeWitt community.  DeWitt invites you to discover Bloom’s art work and attend the John Bloom Arts Festival held each fall.
